Hi! My name is Geeta (they/them) and I am a senior double-majoring in Politics and Biology. I am interested in the overlap of STEM and law, specifically in intellectual property law. Always feel free to reach out with questions and feedback—the best interests of SPLS members is at the core of what we do!

Responsibilities:
  •  Preside over all meetings of the general membership and board;
    - Serve as a chair of the Executive Board and preside over all its meetings; 
    - Act as spokesperson for the society; 
    - Maintain the power to present all motions to the board;
    - Oversee recruitment of new members; 
    - Run elections;
    - Maintain a line of communication with administration

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all dues, accounts, and expenditures of the society; 
  • ​Keep records of the aforementioned dues, accounts, and expenditures; 
  • Plan, implement, and organize all fundraising activities (in conjunction with the Events Director).

Annika Lindberg
Co-President
My name is Annika (she/they) and I'm pursuing a dual degree with politics and psychology. Outside of SPLS I am also a research assistant in the 4th ammendment legal decision making lab and a staff writer for the Claremont Journal of Law and Public Policy. I plan to attend law school and combine my JD with a masters in public administration. Please reach out with any questions or if you want to talk policy law!

  • Organize and manage all events, including communicating with speakers, reserving space for the event on campus (if applicable), and any other necessities required for the event.

Ana Chung
Communications Director

My name is Ana Chung, and I'm a junior at Scripps majoring in politics and environmental analysis. Outside of SPLS, I'm involved in the Small Claims Advisory Service and serve as a junior captain on the Scripps College Mock Trial team. I hope to work in environmental policy implementation in the future, with a passion for green infrastructure and permitting reform. I'm excited to serve as SPLS's communications director. Coordinator 
My name is Chloe, I'm a sophomore dual-majoring in politics and media studies, and I'm super excited about being on the SPLS board this year. I am interested in going into entertainment law, and as your internship coordinator, I hope to share available opportunities that pique your interest.     •    Establish connections with organizations to provide students with legal opportunities.

JEN GROSCUP
FACULTY ADVISOR

Professor Groscup is an associate professor of psychology and the Pre-Law Advisor at Scripps College. She received her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska -- Lincoln. Her primary area of research interest is the intersection between psychology and law. She is particularly interested in legal decision making, expert evidence, scientific evidence, and the effect of attitudes and pre-existing knowledge on perceptions of players and procedures in the legal system. 
Responsibilities:
  • Help with any specific questions about law school, including how to apply, where to find resources for the LSAT, and how to find the right schools for you.
