Meredith McKinley
Co-President
My name is Meredith, and I’m a senior dual majoring in Politics and History. I’ve found it encouraging to be surrounded by driven peers while exploring my interest in law, which is why I’m excited to be your Co-President! Feel free to reach out with any questions, feedback, or ideas about how we can help you make the most of your SPLS experience.​
Responsibilities:
  • Preside over all meetings of the general membership;
  • Serve as a chair of the Executive Board and preside over all its meetings; 
  • Act as spokesperson for the society; 
  • Confer regularly with the Society’s Sponsor(s); 
  • Maintain the power to present all motions to the body present and shall be present at all meetings of The Scripps College Pre-Law Society, except in extenuating circumstances.
Ana Chung
​​Treasurer
My name is Meredith, and I'm a junior dual majoring in Politics and History. I've found it encouraging to be surrounded by driven peers while exploring my interest in law, which is why I'm excited to be your Treasurer! Feel free to reach out with any questions, feedback, or ideas about how to make the most of our budget this year.
Responsibilities:
  • Handle all dues, accounts, and expenditures of the society; 
  • ​Keep records of the aforementioned dues, accounts, and expenditures; 
  • Plan, implement, and organize all fundraising activities (in conjunction with the Events Director). 
Geeta Karlcut

My name is Nikki, and I’m a writing and rhetoric major with an American studies minor. I am incredibly passionate about making higher education accesible and am so grateful for the opportunity to be vice president of SPLS! I hope to attend law school after graduation. Please reach out with any questions, comments, concerns, etc.! ​
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in any duties of the President; 
  • Assume the duties of the President in the event the President is unable to perform said duties until the President can resume their duties; 
  • Keep a record of current members; 
  • Take attendance at meetings; 
  • Oversee recruitment of new members; 
  • Keep track of members.
Emily Pollins

​​My name is Lily and I am majoring in Politics with a minor in Foreign Languages. I have a passion for migrant justice and after my undergraduate studies, I hope to pursue immigration law. I am so excited to be your Events Director this year! Please reach out to me if you have any comments, ideas, questions, or concerns about Pre-Law Society Events.
Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage all events, including communicating with speakers, reserving space for the event on campus (if applicable), and any other necessities required for the event.

​Communications Director
My name is Annika (she/they) and I'm pursuing a dual degree with politics and psychology. Outside of SPLS I am also a research assistant in the 4th ammendment legal decision making lab and a staff writer for the Claremont Journal of Law and Public Policy. I plan to attend law school and combine my JD with a masters in public administration. Please reach out with any questions or if you want to talk policy law!
Responsibilities:
  • Keep meeting minutes; 
  • Manage all social media accounts, logos and general updating the membership of opportunities and things happening within the Scripps Pre-Law Society.​
Reyna Manriquez
Internship Coordinator 
My name is Geeta Karlcut (they/them) and I am dual majoring in Politics and Biology. I have a passion for roles pertaining to advocacy and want to combine law with STEM. As your Volunteer Director, I hope to work 1-on-1 and on a larger club basis to help you find internships and volunteer opportunities in fields of law that you are interested in.

  • Establish connections with organizations to provide students with legal opportunities.
JEN GROSCUP
FACULTY ADVISOR 
Professor Groscup is an associate professor of psychology and the Pre-Law Advisor at Scripps College. She received her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska -- Lincoln. Her primary area of research interest is the intersection between psychology and law. She is particularly interested in legal decision making, expert evidence, scientific evidence, and the effect of attitudes and pre-existing knowledge on perceptions of players and procedures in the legal system. 
Responsibilities:
  • Help with any specific questions about law school, including how to apply, where to find resources for the LSAT, and how to find the right schools for you.
