Kathryn Parker
President
I am a Politics and Psychology dual major. I am a Southern California native passionate about the intersection of law and behaviorism. After my undergraduate studies, I hope to pursue Forensic Psychology studies while attending law school. I am so excited to be your President this year! Responsibilities:
  • Preside over all meetings of the general membership;
  • Serve as a chair of the Executive Board and preside over all its meetings; 
  • Act as spokesperson for the society; 
  • Confer regularly with the Society’s Sponsor(s); 
  • Maintain the power to present all motions to the body present and shall be present at all meetings of The Scripps College Pre-Law Society, except in extenuating circumstances.

Communications Director
Hi, I'm Eileen! I'm a junior dual majoring in Politics and Human Rights Studies. I am passionate about international human rights issues, and I plan on exploring different fields of law, such as international law, corporate law, and family law. I love to read, travel, and I'm a huge foodie! I am so excited to be your Communications Director this year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Responsibilities:
  • Keep meeting minutes; 
  • Manage all social media accounts, logos and general updating the membership of opportunities and things happening within the Scripps Pre-Law Society; 
  • Handle communications when directed by the President or Vice President.

Vice President
I am a senior from the Bay Area majoring in Environmental Policy and minoring in Legal Studies. I plan to pursue my passion for environmental justice as an environmental lawyer. Some of my interests outside of SPLS include competing on the CMS Cross Country and Track and Field Team, hiking, and rock climbing. I am super psyched to be your SPLS Vice President and am eager to pass down my acquired resources and advice to those who are embarking on their journey in the field of law. ​

  • Assist in any duties of the President; 
  • Assume the duties of the President in the event the President is unable to perform said duties until the President can resume their duties; 
  • Keep a record of current members; 
  • Take attendance at meetings; 
  • Oversee recruitment of new members; 
  • Keep track of members.

Events Director

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage all events, including communicating with speakers, reserving space for the event on campus (if applicable), and any other necessities required for the event.

Treasurer
My name is Mishaal and I am a pre-law student from San Diego, CA. I am a politics major with concentrations in international relations and comparative politics. I am interested in both immigration and family law. I am thrilled to be treasurer this year and look forward to making resources accessible for all students interested in legal careers! Responsibilities:
  • Handle all dues, accounts, and expenditures of the society; 
  • ​Keep records of the aforementioned dues, accounts, and expenditures; 
  • Plan, implement, and organize all fundraising activities (in conjunction with the Events Director).

Volunteer Director
I am a senior pre-law student from Miami, Florida majoring in politics. I am interested in prison abolition and immigration law. As Volunteer Director, I’m here to help everyone find fulfilling volunteer opportunities. Please feel free to reach out to me whenever! 
Responsibilities: 
  • Establish SPLS as a chapter within the National Lawyers’ Guild​;
  • Establish Small Claims Advisory Service in conjunction with Harvard University in order to serve the greater Claremont/Inland Empire community.
JEN GROSCUP
FACULTY ADVISOR 
Picture
Professor Groscup is an associate professor of psychology and the Pre-Law Advisor at Scripps College. She received her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska -- Lincoln. Her primary area of research interest is the intersection between psychology and law. She is particularly interested in legal decision making, expert evidence, scientific evidence, and the effect of attitudes and pre-existing knowledge on perceptions of players and procedures in the legal system.

  • Help with any specific questions about law school, including how to apply, where to find resources for the LSAT, and how to find the right schools for you.
